Helen M. Wilson

Longtime McMillan resident Helen M. Wilson, 81, died Monday afternoon, November 26, 2018 at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital.

Born March 16, 1937 in Pontiac, daughter of the late Archie and Pearl (Almas) Hutchinson, she attended school in Pontiac and Lapeer. Formerly employed at Lapeer Metal Products, she was charter member of the UAW for many years.

A resident of McMillan for more than 37 years, she was a seamstress and enjoyed dressing dolls for many years. She loved reading her Bible and writing the Gospel in her studies dating back to her high school days in her Bible club at lunch hour. She attended Northstar Baptist Church in McMillan and enjoyed fishing with her husband and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Royal Woodley and Donald L. Wilson; step-sons, Tony and Tracy Wilson; great-grandson, Austin Hutchinson and great-granddaughter Hadley Turner; seven siblings; nephews, Jody Hutchinson, Jerry Hutchinson and his family and John Boy Whysall; nieces Tammy Hanna and Virginia Pearl; and daughter-in-law, Lila Woodley.

Survivors include her sons, Timothy Hutchinson of Newberry and James Woodley of Newberry; daughter, Kandice (Rick) Lambert of McMillan; stepson, Lance Wilson; 15 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at Northstar Baptist Church Friday, November 30 with Pastor Paul Williams officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Columbus Township Cemetery.
