mBank Campaigns to Support UPAWS

mBank has announced a new community-focused campaign that will benefit the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, or UPAWS. For each new qualifying CD, checking, savings or money market account opened at an Upper Peninsula mBank branch December 1 through February 15, 2019, $100 will be donated to UPAWS.

Additionally, mBank has committed to sponsoring adoption days at UPAWS December 20 and February 14, 2019, when all adoption fees will be covered by the bank. The bank also will collect shelter supplies at each of its U.P. branches and is launching a social media campaign on Facebook, where every new “like” mBank receives will equal an additional $1 donation to UPAWS.

“We’re absolutely ecstatic about partnering with mBank,” explained Kori Tossava, UPAWS executive director/capital campaign manager. “UPAWS’ vision is to create a community where there are no abandoned, homeless or abused animals. It takes a cooperative spirit to fulfill the goal of a shelter that serves our animal companion needs and the community as a whole, and we’re grateful to mBank for this generous commitment.”

“Contributing to help UPAWS aligns with mBank’s mission to give back to the local communities we serve. UPAWS is also very near and dear to many of our employees’ hearts,” explained Kelly W. George, mBank president and CEO. “We’re happy to be able to partner with UPAWS and support the incredible work they do advocating for animals and the safe haven they provide while finding these animals their lifelong homes.”
