Three Lakes Academy

Rachel Bommarito Administrator

—Another busy week at Three Lakes Academy is in the books. Students and staff have been tackling structure building, publishing informational stories, “scribble spelling,” learning to write with fountain pens and more.

—As a school we’ve been watching builders from Foundation Sets, LLC set up our fifth portable building. Sixth graders soon will have their new classroom!

The growth of Three Lakes Academy has been phenomenal. Because of this growth we’re reminded of the generosity of people in this community and surrounding areas. This school is a true testament of the value of education and to what limits caring individuals will go to maintain a quality learning environment for “our” children.

—The upcoming couple of weeks are filling rapidly. Please mark your calendars for these dates:

* December 4, Board of Trustees Meeting, 7:00 p.m.

December 7, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., benefit dinner and silent auction for our employee and rock of the school, Jen Wing. We’ll be taking orders for Three Lakes Academy sweatshirts and longsleeved t-shirts this evening. They will be here in time for Christmas.

December 17, Winter Clothing Exchange and Dinner 6:00 p.m. (There also will be a huge bake sale during this time.)

December 18, first and third grade holiday program in the multi-purpose room, 2:00 p.m.

December 19, kindergarten and second grade holiday program in the multi-purpose room, 2:00 p.m.

I’m certain we’ll be adding more events, so keep your pencils sharpened!

—With the statewide shortage of teachers, we had to move our fine arts teacher, Ms. Gustafson, to the seventh-grade classroom. The students are excelling!

Unfortunately, our music and art programs had to be idled. We’re determined to bring them back next year and will do everything in our power to do so. We think they’re vitally important to a well-balanced educational program.

Upcoming Events

December 4 — Santa at Chamberlin’s

December 7 — Labor of Love Benefit Dinner/Silent Auction for Jennifer Wing
