What’s in a NAME?

McMillan

McMillan was named after James McMillan (1838-1902), a Detroit financier and business partner of John S. Newberry. Both were heavily involved in building railroads through our area. The name McMillan is Scottish in origin. Originally MacMillan, it comes from "Mac" which means "son of" and Maolain, a name meaning "Little Bald One."
