Melvin D. Jordan

Melvin Duane Jordan, 85, of McMillan died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his residence.

Born September 14, 1933 in Tawas, son of the late Earl and Mildred (Haslip) Jordan, he was a resident of Prescott for many years. He was employed as a general laborer in multiple fields of the construction industry for more than 40 years until his retirement.

He had been a resident of McMillan for the past 17 years, and during his lifetime enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing. He also was an avid applicant to the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes and player of Michigan Lottery scratchoff tickets.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four grandchildren and three siblings, Mary Bersano, Elton Jordan and Edward Jordan.

Survivors include his children, Duane (Mary) Jordan of McMillan, Jody (Starla) Jordan of Hope and Ruby (Phillip) Eddy of Mancelona; and eight grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 12 at Saints Cemetery in Whittemore.
