Circus Coming to Newberry July 2

The Culpepper and Merriweather Circus will appear in Newberry Monday evening, July 2 at Atlas Park. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Newberry Save the Bells project.

There will be two shows offered at 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. The “Big Top” will be erected at 9:30 a.m., and everyone is welcome to come and watch the tent go up.

An hour before the show there will be bouncy houses, a 22-foot slide, concession stand, face painting and pony rides offered.

Skeeter the Clown will make appearances prior to the event Thursday, June 21 at the Tahquamenon Public Library at 10:30 a.m. and Curtis Public Library at 11:45 a.m.

Skeeter’s program is entertaining and educational, and she will incorporate history, math, Spanish and American Sign Language into the presentation.

Tickets for the circus can be purchased at Rahilly IGA, Mac’s Supervalu, Newberry Motors, First National Bank, the Village of Newberry office, Triangle Restaurant and Curtis Service Center.

Advance tickets are offered at a discount. Tickets for seniors (65+ years old) and children (two to 12 years of age) also are reduced.
