Tahquamenon Area Schools News

by Stacy Price, Superintendent

—Congratulations to Alex Henry for placing eighth in the state for wrestling. Congratulations also to Nathan Magnusson for representing Newberry at Ford Field.

—March is Reading Month for the elementary. My challenge as principal is to be taped to the wall and have students throw marshmallows at me.

There are weekly goals for classrooms and a monthly calendar that can be done at home. Students return the calendar with a parent/ guardian signature to be entered in a drawing for a new bike.

Local Masons purchased four bikes: two for grades K - 2 and two for grades 3 - 6, a boy and girl bike for each grade level. Thank you to the Masons for this great opportunity and incentive for our students to participate.

Read, Read, Read!

—There will be a Bond Town Meeting Wednesday, March 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. A Power Point presentation will be shown on what the bond will include. An architect and construction manager will be available to answer questions, and building tours will be given.
