Russell Thomas Houseman

Russell Thomas Houseman, 82 of Germfask, Michigan passed away in his sleep on December 30, 2017 at Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique, Michigan. He was born on December 2, 1935 in Maple Rapids, Michigan the son of the late John & Agnes (Huntley) Houseman.

He was a veteran of the United States Army on active duty from December 8, 1958 to December 7, 1960 as Private First Class. During his service he obtained the Marksman (Rifle) and Expert (Sub Machine Gun 45 Cal) medals. He then transferred into the United States Army Reserve from December 7, 1960 to November 30, 1964 and was Honorably Discharged. He then went onto to work in several different careers and finally settled into General Motors in Lansing, Michigan where he later retired and moved to the upper peninsula “God’s Country”. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting and just being one with nature. He was a lifetime member of the Mason’s and an active member of the VFW.

Survivor’s include son, Scott (Rhonda) Houseman, daughter, Jennifer (Houseman) Clifford and several loved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Siblings surviving are Patricia (Houseman) Johnson of Perry, Michigan, John (Mary) Houseman and Beverly (Houseman) Swegman all of Germfask, Michigan.
