Pauline McMullen

Pauline McMullen, 87, a longtime resident of Lakefield Township, most recently of Williamston, died surrounded by her family at Riverwind Assisted Living Facility of Williamston Saturday, August 5, 2017.

She was born March 11, 1930 in Chatham, a daughter of the late Albert and Ulla (Lindstrom) Sautter.

She graduated in the class of 1948 at Newberry High School. On February 19, 1955 she married Douglas McMullen. She retired from Helen Newberry Joy Hospital after working there for more than 20 years.

A former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #74 and Newberry United Methodist Church, she enjoyed reading, sewing, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepmother, Vera Sautter; husband, Douglas; and brothers, Arthur and Alan.

Survivors include her children, Jackee Blouch of Grand Rapids, Michael Mc- Mullen of Newberry, Tammy (Richard) Mergener of Webberville and Tory Richards of Holt; four grandsons and one greatgranddaughter; and siblings, Donald of Paradise, Burt of McMillan, Elsie Swanberg of Jackson, Dorothy Curtis of Haslett and Ulla Hettinger of Roseville.

A memorial service/ interment will be planned for a later date.
